Hammond (1929 – 2019), a life-long Community Activist from Tampa, Florida, after whom James Hammond Elementary School in Odessa, Florida, is named. Hammond's distinctive four P's – positivity, passion, persistence, and patience – come alive in this piece, serving as a reminder of his profound influence on the East Tampa community where he lived his entire life. The artwork radiates the spirit of self-worth, instilling a sense of confidence and determination, reflecting the enduring legacy of hope and resilience he left behind.
